When deciding about which courses to take at College, it is important that you explore where you can progress to once you have recieved your qualification. This page looks at the range of destinations that our Applied Science students can access.
Many of our students progress onto University courses. Due to the broad nature of Applied Science there are many different courses that you can apply for. The best place to look for courses is the UCAS website (linked above). We also have our own dedicated careers team in College who can give you guidance on your next step.
There are range of post A-level/Level 3 apprenticeship options relating to Science. It also important to remember that our students often pick career paths not directly related to Science! Here are a few examples;
NHS Apprenticeships - https://www.stepintothenhs.nhs.uk/apprenticeships
Glaxosmithkline Apprenticeships - https://uk.gsk.com/en-gb/careers/apprenticeships/advanced-and-higher-apprenticeships/
General Science Apprenticeships - https://www.notgoingtouni.co.uk/sector/science
Barclays Apprenticeships - https://joinus.barclays/eme/apprenticeships/higher-apprenticeships/
Applied Science students gain a variety of key skills that employers highly value. Some of our students progress directly into jobs, both in the STEM sector (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and elsewhere. STEM jobs are highly sought after in the UK and often provide salaries which favour very comparably with other sectors.
