The 4H Program
Have you ever wondered what the 4-H program is all about? Or have you ever been interested in raising a show steer? Well maybe I can help you with that.
My name is Shane and I am currently in Grade 10. This is my fourth year as a member in my local 4-H club. I currently hold the position of Secretary and Vice President in the Club.
My STRIVE project this year is to educate people on how the 4-H program works and the steps to raising a show steer. The program empowers members to learn new skills and gain new experiences. Within my project, I will be explaining how meetings work, communications, elections, steer judging, halter breaking, record books, and fair.

Stop Motion Studios
I am Maclean Janzen, and my STRIVE project this year is create STOP MOTION STUDIOS. I am adding these videos to my YouTube channel which is “Randomitity Bros.”
The Bros stands for brothers. Ethan Miller and I started this YouTube channel a couple of months ago.
I have uploaded quite a few videos so far. Some of the videos we have made:

I recently bought a Go-Pro so I can film the videos with higher resolution. In the future, I would like to make a couple of videos of me drifting around trees with my quad.

Photography
I am continuing my STRIVE project that I started last year. I have accomplished a lot in my project so far. I am currently working on a simple booklet that explains photography for younger readers. I have taken a number of great photographs over the last year by applying what I have learned. I have learned to always have my camera with me, since there could be a great opportunity for a picture at any moment.
PROJECT WRITE UP FROM 2019-2020
I have always had an interest in photography. I love seeing a nice, quality picture that captures something. I want to research the camera I have and the lenses I can use with my camera. I want to develop an understanding of the basics of photography and learn the techniques to taking good quality photographs. I would like to research how professional photographers take certain kinds of pictures like portraits, landscapes, and close up pictures on a single object. I also want to learn about cameras and the different brand names. I want to know if one brand name is better for certain types of photography. Once I have researched and learned about cameras & lenses, I would like to apply my knowledge to use my camera to take a great, high quality picture. My final project will be an information board for the school or a reference guide for the school library.

Web Comic
My name is Scout Ryan and I am drawing, writing, and publishing a web comic called Seven Deadly Sins.
The plot of my comic is: the Seven Deadly Sins are lifelong friends who want to open a business corrupting mortal souls. The only problem is Lucifer seems to think it will be a waste of time and money.
The program I’m using is called Procreate and it is $13 on the App Store, and I will be publishing my comic on WEBTOON, but I’m looking into other places to publish as well. My goal is to use this comic to get my career as a freelance artist started.

Basketball Skills & Skateboarding
My STRIVE projects for 2020-2021 are:
I have been working out and working on my basketball skills. For my basketball performance, I am trying to improve on my vertical and physical strength. I am working with a few other classmates and we each have developed individual training plan. We try to follow our plan, document our work-outs and review our progress.
I will be making a “Dream Skateboarding Website” documenting my progression of my skills over the past year, and going forward

Fitness & Performance
My name is Arsh and I am in grade 10. My STRIVE project is working on my fitness level with Kaylen and Davin. We are going to try to build muscle and improve our skills in basketball. We are going to go on a special diet to improve our general health as well. We will do some research and investigation as to which foods and diets will help enhance our health and performance. The diet will include eating heathy foods, which should help with better performance in our daily activities and basketball skills. We are also going to be using pre-workout routines to build more muscle at a faster pace, with the addition of protein-enriched foods. We will be tracking our progress and recording the hours we are putting into this plan. We are going to record our findings with photographs and documentation throughout the project, to show what working out, not eating junk food, and following a set workout routine, can do to your over all look and health, which in turn, we hope improves our basketball skills.

Hi, my name is Kaylen. Davin, Arsh and I are going to be doing basketball and fitness as our STRIVE project. We will be focusing on our verticals and basic basketball skills. Paper Airplanes
Avery and I (Jaymes) are making several different designs, and using different types of paper to find the best possible paper airplane. Right now, we have to search for our design because we lost the instructions to fold the airplanes. We are going to work on getting our different types of paper. Then, we are going to see which combination of plane design and paper type will fly the furthest.

Web comic: Ten Circles
My name is Connor Pethybridge and for my STRIVE project I am illustrating, writing, editing and ultimately publishing my Web comic, Ten Circles.
The plot of my comic is: the time of reckoning has come and gone and Earth has merged with Hell where humans and demons have formed a new society in unison. The main story follows a young human named Arthur and his friends Louis, Branwen and Klaus in their attempts to mend a fractured and corrupted society, by any means necessary.
I’m using a $13 app called Procreate to illustrate my comic on my iPad Pro. I am currently looking for a platform to publish my comic on. My main goal is to create a platform for my future career of freelance art.
