Jon Black

Mr. Black has over 20 years of education experience and has been a high school teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary principal, middle school principal, college and career readiness director. Currently, he is the Director of Secondary Education. Mr. Black has a bachelor’s degree in History, a master’s degree in Social Sciences, and is currently in a doctoral program for Organizational Leadership. His expertise includes creating and refining curriculum and instruction that prepares students for college and career.






Peter Whitmore, Coordinator - Technology, Innovation, & Assessment Supporting Secondary Education

Mr. Whitmore has served in education since 1999 as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, site administrator, and district administrator. For three years in between, he worked for a private educational technology company, traveling across the United States to help educators use assessments and data to transform their instruction for students. He is married to Sonia, his college sweetheart. Together they have a brood of three boys, two cats, four chickens, and a crested gecko. The family has traveled to Maine, New York, Arizona, Las Vegas, and up and down the California coast twice. Mr. Whitmore has been an avid sports card collector since 5th grade. Nerd alert!
