Who are we and what do we do?
The KPBSD Indigenous Education Program supports Alaska Native/Native American students for a successful experience throughout their K-12 schooling years. Our 23-24 school year objectives are to:
Increase academic achievement
Increase knowledge of cultural identity/awareness

How are we funded?
The Indigenous Education Program is funded by the Federal Government's Office of Indian Education, which is part of the U.S. Department of Education. Annual funding of the program is based on the number of individual qualifying students enrolled in KPBSD. Student eligibility for Indigenous Education support is determined solely on the submission of an Office of Indian Eduation 506 form.
Indigenous Advisory Committee
The Advisory Committee, made up of parents, elders and youth, meets three times a year to provide input regarding the services provided to Indigenous students through KPBSD. The committee reviews program activities, staffing, and provides input toward the determination of program priorities. To learn more, review minutes from our past meetings, see who is on the committee, please see The Advisory Committee page.
How do I enroll my child?
