What We Offer
Educators Rising KPBSD's purpose is to provide activities, information, and service opportunities to students interested in exploring a possible future career in education. We have two different opportunities open to students:
Academic Courses and CTSO Chapter (Career and Technical School Organization)
Academic Courses
Course 1 - Introduction to Education
Course 2 - Education Development and Psychology
Course 3 - Learning Culture
Course 4 - Developing Professionalism
Course 1 and 2 have an articulation with UAS and offer dual credit.
CTSO Educators Rising KPBSD Chapter (co-curricular)
Eligibility
Open to all KPBSD middle and high school students interested in exploring the field of education.
School Year 2022-23 Meetings
Weekly. Time and place depend on the school of attendance.
KCHS Chapter meets on Wednesdays @ Lunch in the EdRising Conference Room in the KCHS Library
SoHi Chapter meets on Thursday @ Lunch in Room 78 (upstairs)
For students outside of the central peninsula at this time, the weekly meetings are on Zoom on Mondays from 12:00 to 12:30 PM.
Time Commitment
Approximately four hours a month.
Requirements
Commit to preparing a competition for the State Leadership Conference and participating in fundraiser activities for covering state and national travel expenses.
Traveling
Students who prepare and participate in competitions, earn the right to travel to the State conference, and, if they qualify, to the National Leadership conference.
