We are FUNDRAISING to support our travel to Washington DC for the National Conference this June!
KPBSD is a beautiful district, rich in cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity, and larger than the state of West Virginia! We have 42 diverse schools in 17 different communities, some only reachable by boat or small plane. Many of our schools are Title I, which means a lot of our students come from low-income families that can’t afford travel expenses, even for educational purposes.
Our goal is to ensure that the Educators Rising districtwide chapter remains accessible to all our high school and middle school students, promoting equity and inclusion by guaranteeing equal opportunities to participate in all our activities.
The two events that require the greatest investment of funds are the state and national conferences and competitions. Budget cuts are making it harder for everyone to participate equally, especially when it comes to traveling to these crucial events. These conferences are vital for students' growth, as they allow them to learn from and connect with their peers from around the country.
The main goal of our fundraiser is to cover the costs of travel, lodging, and food for our students. We work hard to fundraise locally all year round, and we greatly appreciate your support in helping all our students travel and participate in the Educators Rising conferences, ensuring that every student has equal access to these amazing opportunities.
Your contribution will help us raise the future educators our communities need.
Past fundraising events include chili dinners, silent auctions, bake and crêpe sales, Valentine's goods sales, baked goods booths at local events, and local bazaars.
We are currently fundraising for our travel to the Educators Rising National Conference and Competition that will be held in Washington, DC at the end of June.
If you would like to support our students travel to the Educators Rising National Leadership Conference, you can also donate directly to their school specifying that the donation is for the Educators Rising program. KCHS & SoHi have active accounts.
