About

Our Mission

Welcome to the St. James Intermediate School Library Learning Commons! It is a warm and welcoming, active learning commons promoting the love of reading, thinking, creating, and sharing. We seek ways to promote learning for all students by providing fair access to information, literacy skills, and life long learning opportunities. We strive to be a center of collaborative learning that produces creative students who have an appreciation of literature, critical thinking skills, and respect for others and self. We also hope to support our students in developing the knowledge, skills, and life characteristics necessary for becoming productive citizens in the 21st century.

About the Learning Commons

Our goal at the SJI Library Learning Commons is to create a warm and welcoming center of reading, creating, learning, exploration and discovery. We look forward to working with your child this year. Students are welcome to come to the library learning commons to select reading materials, complete homework, collaborate on group projects, and create in the makerspace!

We are always available to assist students with questions they may have about books, reading, classwork or anything else.

I invite you to explore more on the SJI Library Learning Commons web page. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Easler at leasler@horrycountyschools.net
