What is Career and Technical Education?
The purpose of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to provide students with opportunities to prepare for future careers while still in high school. Through CTE, students gain valuable technical, academic, and employability skills that support success in both college and the workforce. At Conway High School, CTE courses and programs are designed to engage students in learning that is both rigorous and relevant to real-world experiences.
Conway High currently offers 15 entry-level CTE majors:

The Advanced Manufacturing Career Cluster blends innovative technologies and practices to enhance design and production. It covers areas such as engineering, research and development, automation, equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and quality control. Advanced Manufacturing aims to increase efficiency and reduce waste, ensure safety, and produce high-quality goods, driving the industry's growth and adapting to modern demands.

The Agriculture Career Cluster concentrates on the scientific advancement, cultivation, processing, and distribution of agricultural products, employing advanced technologies and sustainable practices to optimize global food systems, as well as other plant and animal-based industries like regenerative agriculture, sustainable logging, and fisheries. This cluster significantly overlaps with the Energy and Natural Resources Cluster, highlighting a symbiotic relationship that emphasizes stewardship and resilient communities.

Construction
The Construction Career Cluster focuses on professions involved in designing, planning, managing, and executing projects in the built environment. It emphasizes sustainable building practices to ensure structures are both environmentally responsible and resilient. Professionals in this field are pivotal in creating durable infrastructure that meets present needs without compromising future generations' ability to meet their own, covering a range of roles from architects and engineers to construction managers and skilled tradespeople.
Business Management and Administration (Available at CHS!)
People with business skills are the ones that make the deals that build profitable companies that power the global economy. A career in business can take an individual to the CEO's corner office on the top floor of a skyscraper or around the world making million-dollar deals. The business management and administration industry is the highest paying, with nearly half of all jobs in management and professional occupations. For those who have always wanted to be their own boss, this is the cluster to consider. Surveys indicate that about one-fourth of all workers in BMA careers are self-employed. Top-paying BMA jobs often require a graduate college degree, such as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). But, don't think you have to go on to graduate school to land a challenging job that offers competitive pay and benefits.
