Dr. Smith has been a school counselor for 20 years in Horry County.  She has served the Aynor community for 10 years by serving as a school counselor at Aynor Elementary School and Aynor Middle School.  Dr. Smith enjoys hunting, fishing, singing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.  She is an active choir member, Junior Beta Club Sponsor, active in the SC Waterfowl Assocation-Horry Chapter, and American School Counselor Association Member.   She looks forward to serving the students at Aynor Middle School.

Beth Ann Chambers brings more than 25 years of heart, humor, and dedicated experience to public education, grounded in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and relentless student advocacy. A proud native Montanan, Beth Ann launched her school counseling career in the Denver metro area in 1999—entering the field during a historic turning point in American education following the Columbine tragedy. That trial-by-fire origin deeply instilled in her a lifelong commitment to student safety, emotional healing, and building proactive support networks that catch kids before they fall.

Throughout her career, Beth Ann has served as a trusted school counselor, lead elementary counselor, and fierce advocate, guiding students and families through the unique maze of academic, social, and emotional challenges. Most recently in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she served as the district’s Homeless Liaison and Program Manager for Project HOPE. In this role, she spearheaded district-wide systems under the McKinney-Vento Act, removing barriers and cutting through red tape so that students experiencing homelessness maintained continuous access to education, basic necessities, and community resources.

Now bringing her rich background in crisis response, district leadership, and compassionate care to South Carolina, Beth Ann is thrilled to begin her next chapter supporting students as a school counselor at Aynor Middle School.

Outside the school halls, Beth Ann's heart belongs to her family and creative pursuits. She is the proud mother of two grown daughters and a delighted grandmother to two energetic grandsons. An avid reader, painter, and creative at heart, she carries her Montanan values of resilience and tight-knit community wherever she goes—and is thoroughly enjoying trading the Big Sky for sunny days spent unwinding at the beach.
