The Claremont Village is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from Harvey Mudd College. It has many dining options, events, shops, a movie theater, and services like the Post Office and salons/barber shops.

The Claremont Packing House is a repurposed historical landmark which now hosts a variety of restaurants, shops, and services (such as art lessons and an arcade!).
The Claremont Farmer's Market takes place on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Harvard Avenue.
Our campus dining services are closed for the first half of the summer, and opens up with limited dining options. However, we provide students with a stocked kitchen full of snacks and some catered lunches throughout the program. Here are some recommendations we have for food planning, although many of them may require transportation.

Explore Southern California through the Metrolink! The Claremont Village is a reasonable walk from Harvey Mudd's campus and includes a train stop for the Metrolink. This can take you to the Downtown Los Angeles Union Station.

The California Botanic Garden is a 10-minute walk from Harvey Mudd College and is the largest garden dedicated to California native plants.
There are various hiking options around Claremont, including multiple routes on Mount Baldy which sits right behind Harvey Mudd campus.
Pomona College's Benton Museum of Art (a 15-minute walk from Harvey Mudd College) and Scripps College's Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery (a 5 minute walk from HMC) are free and open to the public.
