Mission & Vision

December 2020

Timberlines is a journalistic resource of the students, by the students, and for the students of Evergreen High School. The Timberlines staff seek to address issues relevant to the world today in order to inform, educate, enlighten, entertain, and provide multiple viewpoints for students, staff, and the greater White Center community. The staff serve to provide a public forum for student expression on important and prominent issues as well as serve as a means for Freedom of expression.

In a day and age in which credibility is more essential than ever, Timberlines journalists will strive to honestly, accurately, fairly, and impartially report news that is relevant and newsworthy to students. Events and issues occurring immediately on campus will be the primary focus, however, the staff will cover any community, state, national, or international news affecting the student body. The staff will also put forth important news that holds value and will not shy away from controversy.

The editors and staff writers encourage the expression of diversity and work towards increasing the scope of our coverage in order to heighten local and global awareness throughout the school community.

Timberlines is published quarterly and gives students the opportunity to work as reporters and learn skills focusing on creative thinking, teamwork, interviewing, writing, editing, artwork, design, layout and distribution. The publication was created by students for students and is not intended to be a professional publication. Every effort was made to ensure accuracy and be exhaustive in our news coverage. The views and opinions expressed in this publication are those of the students and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Evergreen High School or the Highline School District. Sincerest apologies for any inaccuracies or errors that may have been made during this learning process.
