Ms. Cervantez, known affectionately by her students as the Crazy Lady is a native Austinite, and has been teaching since 2013. Her bachelor's of Music Education choral emphasis, was earned from Texas State University in May of 2013.

She serves her musical community by directing the Hays CISD Honor Choir, working with the Victoria Community Theatre's Triple Threat Summer camp, and by being active as the Region 18 Elementary chair for TMEA, as well as a TMEA Mentorship Network Area Coordinator.

Outside of school, Ms. Cervantez enjoys reading, coffee, crafting, exercise, and spending time with her cat, Xochilinda.

Mr. Vazquez, has been at Sunfield Elementary School at Hays CISD since it's opening in 2022. He graduated from Texas State University with a bachelors in Music Education with a Choral Concentration in the fall of 2021.  He was involved in the TXST music community being the president of their music student advisory council (MuSAC) and president of their chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).

He has also worked with multiple directors and choirs within our Hays community, even including Lehman High School's production of The Lightning Thief musical.

In his free time, Mr. Vazquez loves to crochet, play Magic: the Gathering and drinking copious amounts of coffee.

Mrs. Valdez, is the current music teacher at Camino Real Elementary School, she has been teaching since the fall of 2013. Her educational career started in Del Rio, Texas, where she gained experience teaching Elem/Secondary Orchestra and later gained her Elem Music experience in San Antonio, Tx. 

She graduated from Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Valdez joined our HAYS team last year, and serves her community by advocating for music education, and is excited to be Co-directing the Hays Honor Choir this year.  

Outside of school, Mrs. Valdez enjoys meeting new people, exercising, crafting, and spending time with her wonderful husband and two children.
