Elementary Music Director at Science Hall Elementary
Ms. Cervantez, known affectionately by her students as the Crazy Lady, is a native Austinite and has been teaching since 2013. Her bachelor's of Music Education choral emphasis, was earned from Texas State University in May of 2013.
She serves her musical community by directing the Hays CISD Honor Choir, working with the Victoria Community Theatre's Triple Threat Summer camp, and by being active as the Region 18 Elementary chair for TMEA, as well as a TMEA Mentorship Network Area Coordinator.
Outside of school, Ms. Cervantez enjoys reading, coffee, crafting, exercise, and spending time with her cat, Xochilinda.

Mattie Baker
Mattie Baker
Elementary Music Director at Cullen Elementary School
Mrs. Baker is the music teacher at Cullen Elementary and has been teaching Elementary Music since 2016. She received her Bachelors of Music Education (EC-12) from Southwestern University and taught in Georgetown, TX before coming to Kyle in 2023 with her husband and 2-year-old daughter.
In addition to directing the Cullen Cubs Choir, she serves the Austin community as a long-time member and flute/piccolo player for the Austin Civic Orchestra. Mrs. Baker is very excited to be starting her second year with us as a HCISD Honor Choir co-director and elementary music teacher.
Outside of school, Mrs. Baker enjoys crafting, eating Italian or Mexican food, outdoor adventures, snuggling her two sassy schnauzers, and playing games with her family.
