Key Features of the
HAYS CISD Honor Choir
Audition-Based Selection: Singers are usually chosen through auditions, and these auditions often require a variety of levels in vocal proficiency, musicianship, and experience.
Focused Rehearsal Time: The rehearsal time for an honor choir is intense. The choir may only rehearse for a short period before performing, making the experience both challenging and rewarding.
High Quality Music: The music performed by the honor choir is often challenging and chosen to showcase the choir's skill and the ability of it's members.
Special Conductors: The Hays CISD Honor choir is led by three conductors who all have their own special expertise in teaching choral music or experience in working with youth or honor ensembles.
Performance Opportunities: Our honor choir will typically perform in prestigious events, such as choir festivals, conferences, or at conventions, and they may also collaborate with other musical groups.
Motivation and Recognition: Being selected for an honor choir is a recognition of a singer's talent and hard work. It also provides opportunities for personal growth and exposure to new musical styles and techniques.
