In Music...

... we will EXPLORE and ENJOY music together! We will sing, dance, and play instruments. We will learn about important composers and discover how to create music. We will make connections to math, science, reading, and history. We will use music to express feelings and share ideas. We will also have opportunities to perform for our friends and family.

Cullen Choir Information

CES's Cubs Choir is an after-school music club for 4th and 5th graders who love to sing in a group! Students don't have to audition to join, but must submit an online application at the AND have reliable transportation home.

REHEARSALS:

Cubs Choir has rehearsals on most Wednesdays in the music room from 3:30-4:30 pm. At 4:30, students will be dismissed as either walkers/bike-riders, car-riders, or an enrolled member of an after-school program at CES (NO buses). Car-riders will meet at the front of CES for pick-up (outside, weather permitting) with Mrs. Baker.

UNIFORM:

Students in the CES Cubs Choir will wear a uniform for performances. This includes a 26-27 Cubs Choir shirt, black bottoms, and close-toed shoes. The cost of a shirt is included in the choir registration fee. Extra shirts can be ordered for students and family!

SCHEDULE:

9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 11/19: performance, 12/1: performance, 12/2, 12/9, 12/10: performance, (spring dates TBD)

Hays CISD Honor choir information

The Hays CISD Honor Choir is a unique ensemble made up of skilled and talented singers from across the Hays CISD Elementary and Middle Schools. The Honor Choir is formed to represent students district-wide and has many performance opportunities during the school year, including special events like festivals and choir competitions. Auditions for the HCISD Honor Choir are held at the beginning of each school year, most rehearsals are on Tuesdays at the HCISD PAC.

Recorder Order Information

3rd - 5th: Recorders For Music

All students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will need a recorder to play in music class throughout the school year! Students may use a recorder they already own or purchase a new one. For more information, please see the Recorder Letter from Mrs. Baker.

New recorder kits can be purchased through CES for $8 using the order form attached to the Recorder Letter, or you can order online using this link: CES Recorder Online Order. Orders are due by 10/30!

If your child already owns a recorder or will purchase one on their own, please have your child deliver it to the music room no later than 11/10 (labeled with first & last name).

Veteran's Day Performance

Wednesday November 11, 2026 @ 9:30am

CES is proudly preparing for our Veteran's Day Celebration on November, 11th, 2026! Information about our celebration and ways for family and friends to be involved is included in our 2026 Veteran's Day Flyer. Students & their families can submit a photo for the Veteran's Day Slideshow and decorate a Veteran's Day Star for our hallway display (due by 11/6), then on Wednesday, 11/11 students can wear red, white, and blue to school to show support to our soldiers. Students in 5th grade will also be presenting a patriotic tribute to our troops at 9:30am in the CES cafeteria (also live-streamed)! Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members are invited to attend 5th grade's program on 11/11 @ 9:30am and enjoy a light reception following the performance (RSVP here by 11/6, pre-register in the front office starting 11/9)! Thank you for honoring our brave men and women in the military!
