In Music...

... we will EXPLORE and ENJOY music together! We will sing, dance, and play instruments. We will learn about important composers and discover how to create music. We will make connections to math, science, reading, and history. We will use music to express feelings and share ideas. We will also have opportunities to perform for our friends and family.

Recorder Order Information

It's Recorder Time!

ALL students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will need a recorder to play in music class throughout the remainder of the school year! Your child may use a recorder they already own or purchase a new one. You can purchase a new recorder kit through CES for $8 using this link: RevTrak Recorder Order. Orders are due by 10/30! If your child already owns a recorder or will purchase their own, please have your child deliver it to the music room no later than 11/10. Cullen Choir Information

The Cullen Cubs Choir is an after-school club open to all 4th and 5th graders who love to sing in a group! Students don't have to audition to join, but must submit an online application AND have reliable transportation home. This club is limited to 40 students, so submit your application quickly! Applications are due by September 5th.

Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays 3:30-4:30, and there will be multiple performance opportunities throughout the year. The first rehearsal will be on Wednesday, September 17th. Please read the Cubs Choir Info Letter and see the application for more information. Hope to see you there!

Hays CISD Honor choir information

Hays CISD Honor choir

4th & 5th graders are invited to audition to be a part of the Hays CISD Honor Choir! We have the huge honor of singing at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Conference in February, among several other fun performances. The Honor Choir meets to rehearse every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm at the PAC. Auditions will be held Friday, 9/19 from 5-7pm at the PAC (in order of arrival), students will be asked to sing a short song they know from music class or choir.
