...we learn the ELEMENTS and PRINICIPALS of Art on a daily basis. We follow the 4 basic strands of the Fine Arts Elementary Art TEKS of (1) Observation and Perception in art; (2) Creative Expression; (3) Historical and Cultural relevance of our art and art of others; and (4) Critical evaluation and response to our artwork and the work of others. Students complete artwork showcasing these strands using a variety of different art materials, which also help develop their fine motor skills.
This year Cullen artists will learn about the unique and amazing world we live in through fun and engaging art experiences. Lessons help students explore a region of the world and learn important art elements and principles along the way. All lessons support elementary art TEKS and follow the Hays CISD art scope and sequence.
Students will start the year off with creating individual PASSPORTS that students can use to document their travels. Updates on where we are in our artistic trip will be posted here!
If your student has been selected to showcase their work at the District Art show they will have receive a letter.

Kids are naturally curious. They ask why and how? They imagine. They create. When kids create, they solve problems and think up new solutions. Young creatives need to be nurtured, so that their originality shines. So their ideas can take shape and become real. When we celebrate their innate creative mindsets, children view the world with wonder. They embrace innovative thinking. They create possibilities. Join Crayola Creativity Week, and help children create the future. This week long event will be celebrated at school and we encourage you to follow along at home!
