Unit 2

In this reading unit, students will examine realistic fiction through the lens of “reading like writers.” Working through a serialized podcast mentor text, students will use a critical lens to investigate the way writers develop and convey key ideas and details. Students will also analyze the devices and techniques of craft and structure that writers of realistic fiction use to develop characters and to convey themes. This unit will culminate in a multiple choice assessment on these skills and ideas.
