In The Johnson Literacy Studio, students are more than learners - they are readers, writers, thinkers, collaborators, and communicators. Every lesson is designed to challenge students academically while building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for literacy. Through engaging instruction, meaningful discussions, authentic writing experiences, and collaborative learning, students develop the skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Preparing for High School & Beyond

Eighth grade serves as the bridge between middle school and high school. Students refine the literacy skills they have developed over the past two years while engaging with increasingly rigorous texts and writing tasks. Instruction emphasizes independence, leadership, critical thinking, and effective communication.
