In The Johnson Literacy Studio, students are more than learners - they are readers, writers, thinkers, collaborators, and communicators. Every lesson is designed to challenge students academically while building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for literacy. Through engaging instruction, meaningful discussions, authentic writing experiences, and collaborative learning, students develop the skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Building Strong Foundations

Sixth grade marks the beginning of our middle school literacy journey. Students strengthen foundational reading and writing skills while learning to think more deeply about what they read. Throughout the year, students will explore literature and informational texts, expand their academic vocabulary, strengthen grammar and language conventions, and develop confidence as readers, writers, speakers, and listeners.
