GSMST is a 1:1 Windows computing environment - all students get a GCPS laptop with software to support the curriculum. Because you have a Windows PC laptop instead of a Chromebook, you have access to a range of software to support your curriculum, including:
Microsoft Office Apps (Sign-in required)
Word
PowerPoint
Excel
Adobe Creative Cloud (Sign-in required)
Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
Photoshop
Premiere Pro
Other apps as needed for your classes - we can install remotely
There will be other specialized software for your engineering and computer science classes. Note: you cannot install software yourself. You do not have administrative rights on your laptop.
Tech Triage is where we help you with technology problems:
Hardware repairs
Charger replacement (due to loss or malfunction)
Lost chargers will incur a $30.00 fee
Software issues
Special software installation (per your teacher)
If you damage your laptop, or if a key pops off, or if something seems like it's not working properly, please come to Tech Triage during regular morning or afternoon hours as soon as you can.
