Grade 8: PSAT
The PSAT for students in grade 8 will take place in-person at Gwinnett Online Campus on Tuesday, October 29 from 8:30 a.m. - Noon.

The PSAT NMSQT for students in grades 10 and 11 will take place in-person at Gwinnett Online Campus on Wednesday, October 30 from 8:30 a.m. - Noon.

Grades K-12: October School Counseling Lessons
Grades K-3 live counseling lessons will focus on the character trait, responsibility. Grades K-4 explored their first career cluster in a program called "Pathful Junior" this week. On Tuesday, October 22 students in 5th grade will have a suicide prevention lesson during their social studies class time.
Students in grades 6-8 will complete the Lures Lesson with our middle school counseling team.
Our students in 10th grade will participate in a College/Career Lesson, the Strengths Explorer. This activity will help students identify their natural talents and strengths.

Grades K-12: Virtual Parent Support Meeting
Parents, please join us on Monday, October 28 from 9-10 a.m. via zoom. At the meeting you will have the opportunity to hear from other parents, counselors, the student engagement team, the intervention team and more about the ways you can support your student here at GOC.

Grades 10-12: Reminder Scholastic Images On-Site Campus Visit
As a reminder, Scholastic Images is scheduled to visit GOC tomorrow, Friday, October 18 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. to assist eligible students with ordering their Letter Jacket or additional patches/bars. Students who received a GOC qualification letter and voucher in the mail (outlining proof of lettering at Gwinnett Online Campus in academics, fine arts and/or leadership for the 2023-24 school year) may order a jacket by presenting their voucher to the on-campus representative. To place your order, you need:
$150 deposit (cash, check, money order or credit/debit card)
Proof that you have lettered (voucher you received in the mail)
Student must be present for sizing purposes

Grades 8-12: Optional Student ID Badge
Student ID badges are not required at GOC this year. We will have a different check-in system in place for activities while on campus. However, if you need a picture ID for another purpose (such as for testing), below if the date for the final opportunity this semester for you to sign-up to get your student picture ID.

Grades K-12: GOC Talent Show
Come enjoy an evening of performances showcasing our students in GOC's Annual Talent Show, scheduled for tonight, Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so please RSVP for this event by clicking HERE.

Grades K-12: Service at GOC
On Thursday, October 17, please bring new or gently used shoe donations to the Talent Show for the Talent Shoe Drive to benefit Soles for Souls. Students can earn service hours for their donations.

Grade 6: Junior Achievement (JA) BizTown Visit
This year, 6th grade students have the exciting opportunity to participate in the Junior Achievement (JA) BizTown program on Friday, November 15.
As part of the program, our students get to participate in a no cost field trip to Junior Achievement’s Discovery Center at Gwinnett. This is an experiential learning lab where the students will receive hands-on, real-world interactions with personal finance skills.
The BizTown permission form can be picked up at the front desk at GOC, can be printed from your child's social studies courses or found HERE. This form must be signed and returned to the GOC front desk no later than Monday, October 28.
The bus will leave school on Friday, November 15 at 9:30 a.m. and return at approximately 3:00 p.m. Please plan on dropping your child off at GOC no later than 9:00 a.m. so we can get an accurate headcount. In the afternoon, please have your child picked up promptly at 3:00 p.m.

Grades K-12: Field Trips and Field Experiences

All field trips and field experiences are optional. To register for events (even if the event has no fee), please visit the students MyPaymentsPlus account to sign-up. GRADES K-2
The Southeast Railway Museum field experience is scheduled for Friday, November 8. Space is limited; register and pay NOW on the student's MyPaymentsPlus account. A parent/adult guardian is required to accompany the student to this event and must register separately by going to the parent/adult guardian registration on MPP. As a reminder, all field experiences for grades K-2 require the parent/adult guardian to accompany the student to the event as well as provide transportation to and from the event site.
GRADES 3-5
The Georgia Aquarium field trip is scheduled for Friday, October 18. Registration is now closed. Those who have registered will receive an email to the address that you registered with outlining specific information about the trip. Bus transportation from GOC will be provided to and from the event site for this field trip.
Our first field experience for grades 3-5 is the Southeast Railway Museum scheduled for Friday, November 8. Space is limited; register and pay NOW on the student's MyPaymentsPlus account. Any parent/adult guardian wishing to stay for this event will need to register separately by going to the parent/guardian registration on MPP. As a reminder, this field experience for grades 3-5 requires parent/guardian transportation to and from the event site.
GRADES 6-8

The Downtown Lawrenceville field experience is scheduled for Friday, October 18. Registration is now closed. Those who have registered will receive an email with more specific information about the trip. As a reminder, this field experience for grades 6-8 requires parent/guardian transportation to and from the event site.
GRADES 9-12
The Downtown Lawrenceville field experience is scheduled for Friday, November 1 beginning at 9 a.m. Join us for this free event as we explore Geographic Info Systems hosted by City Hall while checking out all the history of our local community in this action packed chaperoned scavenger hunt. To register for this free event, you MUST sign up on the student's MyPaymentsPlus account. Parents are welcome to attend but must also register on MPP. As a reminder, this field experience for grades 9-12 requires your own transportation to and from the event site.
GOC Disc Golf field experience is also scheduled for Friday, November 1 at 12:30 p.m. We will meet at Alexander Park located at 800 Old Snellville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA. Prior experience is welcome but definitely not required. Ms. Nancy Thompson, Mr. Dustin Smith and Mr. Josh Rowan will provide a short lesson on rules and technique and then we will play a 18 hole round of disc golf. GOC will provide all the discs for playing. Students will need to bring water, wear closed toed athletic shoes and be dressed for the weather. Participants will need to be physically capable of walking about a mile in very uneven terrain (elevation change, grass, mulch, gravel etc). Parents are welcome to walk along with us or wait at the park pavilion. We should be done and leaving the park by 3 p.m. This field experience can accommodate up to 12 students. As a reminder, this field experience for grades 9-12 requires your own transportation to and from the event site.

Grades 4-12: GOC's Roost and Boost
Tomorrow, Friday, October 18, students in grades 4-12 are invited to come for Roost and Boost which is a face to face academic support session.
Some important reminders:
Students can be dropped off no earlier than 7:45 a.m.
Roost and Boost runs from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m.
Bring your GOC issued Chromebook and your notebooks with you from home
Students who are NOT scheduled for on-campus GOC Friday activities for grades 9-12 and the Aquarium for grades 3-5 should plan to leave campus as soon as Roost and Boost is over. The only exception is if a student has a pre-arranged onboarding or intervention team appointment. Students going to Downtown Lawrenceville must have a ride immediately following Roost and Boost to take them to meet at City Hall.

Grades 9-12: Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to celebrate and learn about Hispanic Heritage Month during their grade level GOC Friday scheduled for Friday, October 18.
This session will be held in the Auditorium.

Grades 9-12: School Spirit Fridays
We have loved seeing all your school spirit on campus so far this year. Thank you so much for engaging in school spirit and showing your creativity.
Below are the details of our next school spirit day:
Grades 9-12: Friday, October 18 - Zac Efron Birthday/High School Musical/Disney Day, come to campus as we celebrate Zac Efron's birthday by representing your best High School Musical or Disney themed outfit. Please be mindful that school dress code policy rules apply.
GOC students have lots of school spirit so make sure you join us for these fun school spirit days!
Please save the date for the Fall Social on Friday, October 25 where you can continue to show your school spirit by dressing in a school appropriate costume.

Grades 6-12: Grow Your Leadership with Student Council
On Thursday, November 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (please note date correction), our team will be heading to the District 1 Conference at the John Maxwell Leadership Center. The cost is $50 which includes a t-shirt and lunch. Please register on the student's MyPaymentsPlus account by the deadline of Friday, October 18. Spots are limited so register as soon as possible. Once we hit our maximum number, registration will close. Members of Student Council in grades 6-12 are expected to attend. If you need a scholarship for the conference, please reach to Dr. Kyle Johnson as soon as possible.
Last but not least, our big leadership trip this year will be to Rock Eagle for the GASC State Convention from Thursday, February 20 through Saturday, February 22. All student leaders in grades 6-12 in good standing should plan to attend. Please save the date and stay tuned for registration information coming soon.

Please join us for some Fall Fun with friends at our annual Fall Social scheduled for Friday, October 25. You can now register for the fall social on the students MyPaymentsPlus account.

High School students have the Homecoming Dance as their fall activity but students in grades 9-12 may sign up to volunteer at this event by contacting Ms. Hope Campbell. Student volunteers in grades 9-12 who wish to participate in the Food Truck, you must register on the students MyPaymentsPlus account for a reduced cost.

Grade 12: GOC PAC Senior Skate Night
When the sun goes down on Tuesday, October 29, join PAC at Sparkles for a Senior Class Skate Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Seniors show your class of 2025 spirit and pack the rink with your ghoulish friends and family. There will be prizes for the most creative GOC spirit wear and non-scary, skate-safe costumes! This is a great chance to celebrate our seniors and the spooky season together!
All GOC students are welcome, but especially our spooky seniors! Mention you're with GOC for special prices on admission and skates, laser tag, and pizza combos. PAC hopes to see you there!
Grades K-12: Parent Advisory Committee Events
PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) would love for you to connect with us via our GOC PAC Parent Site. Our events calendar is updated through Fall, and you can RSVP and get more details for PAC meets, Sparkles, the POW WOW and more.
