Grades K-12: Communication with Teachers
To ensure teachers are receiving communication from parents and students, please communicate in the following ways:
GCPS Email
Text Message
Phone Call
Due to our unique online learning environment, all of our teachers have work cell phones. You can find each teacher's contact information listed on their course homepage in D2L. These 3 methods will ensure the teacher receives your communication and can respond to you in a timely manner.
Grades K-8: iReady Testing
Students in grades K-8 will be participating remotely in iReady testing the week of August 12-16.
Please be sure that students are completing this assessment on their own. This is a diagnostic test which will adjust its questions to suit your student's needs. It will show content that your student has never seen before and therefore, it is designed for them to not know the answers to every question. The test will adapt to find the precise ability of the student.
Please email the Assessment Office with questions.

Grades K-12: ParentSquare is GCPS' Communication Tool for Families
ParentSquare is a simple-to-use platform that provides a safe way for schools and families to communicate and connect. ParentSquare is your go-to platform for communication and reminders. We encourage all parents to take advantage of this powerful tool to stay connected, engaged, and actively involved in their child's educational journey.
The most effective way to use ParentSquare is through the app where you can control how you receive information and keep it all in one place. If you do not wish to use the app, you will receive information in one daily digest email from ParentSquare at the end of each day.
Visit our website for more information about ParentSquare.
Grades K-12: 24/25 GCPS Student Accident Insurance
GCPS is pleased to provide information about Student Accident Insurance available through K&K Insurance. This affordable insurance plan can help cover costs associated with accidental injuries to your student. This insurance plan is not intended to replace your child’s health insurance coverage. Rather, this insurance can supplement any existing insurance policies, providing a specified amount of coverage if your student should be injured at school.
To enroll, file a claim, or for more information about the plans, please contact Cheryl Norris, K&K Insurance.

Grades K-12: IMPORTANT Field Trip and Field Experience Guidelines/Protocols
As we get ready for our first educational field trip and field experiences of the school year, we want to communicate some very important policies and procedures to our families regarding our trips. Please note that all Field Trips and Field Experiences are optional.
FIELD TRIPS are off-campus educational activities where students meet at Gwinnett Online Campus and transportation is provided to the event location.
Each Field Trip has a limited number of spaces available due to staffing and transportation. We encourage everyone to sign up early. All field trips are available on MyPaymentsPlus. Please click HERE to find out more about all planned activities for the Fall semester.
Students and parents going on the grade level field trip must register through MyPaymentsPlus and ride the bus for safety and security reasons. There are designated slots available for parents to attend as chaperones and they must register on the students MyPaymentsPlus account when registering their student. We are NOT able to accommodate students and/or parents that arrive to the field trip venue on their own in our scheduled group activity.
If your student has a health related issue that may impact them on the field trip, please contact Ms. Amy Ezzell, GOC's County School Nurse to request a Health Management Form.
Please make sure that you are on time to drop-off and pick-up your student the day of the event. The buses are on a tight schedule and will leave promptly in order to arrive on time to the venue. We are unable to issue refunds for those that are late and miss the bus and scheduled activity.
Please make sure that you pack food and a drink for your student for each field trip.
FIELD EXPERIENCES are off-campus educational activities where the parent/guardian provides transportation to and from the event location.
Field Experiences are local activities that require parents to provide transportation for their student to and from the event. Please click HERE to find out more about all planned activities for the Fall semester. Being on time for arrival and pick-up is key to the success of the event.
In some instances, parents will be required to accompany their student at the field experience (this is a requirement for students in grades K-2 and may apply to other grade levels based upon the event activity)
If your student has a health related issue that may impact them on the field trip, please contact Ms. Amy Ezzell, GOC's County School Nurse to request a Health Management Form.
Students and parents planning to attend a Field Experience must register through MyPaymentsPlus even if there is no fee associated with the trip. MPP is the location where all required permission slips need to be completed.
If a parent is attending a field experience and there is an associated fee, they must register and pay on their students MyPaymentsPlus account for both the student and the parent.
Please make sure that you pack food and a drink for your student for each field experience.
Please email Ms. Hope Campbell with questions.
