Applying your knowledge of enzymes: A look at enzymatic disorder

You will be assigned an enzymatic disease to research. Your task is to learn about the enzyme involved in this disorder, create a model of that enzyme and its substrate/products, and present about the disorder using the model as a visual aid. This is your chance to demonstrate your knowledge of enzymes, as well as presentation and delivery techniques. It should be well-thought out and prepared, as you will earn two grades for this!

This is a summative (test grade) for BIOLOGY

Project Timeline

Research your disorder. Before you can even do this, you need to formulate a list of questions that you should answer in your research. Use the biology rubric to help you with this.
Then research. Take notes. This should take you about 30 minutes.
Build a model. The model should represent how the affected enzyme would normally function. Refer to the rubric for more specific details on what should be included in your model.
Later in your presentation, you will use your model to explain how the enzyme deficiency leads to disease.

Complete your model if not already done.
Figure out what you want to say in your presentation. FOLLOW THE ABT FORMAT.
Your presentation should be about 1 - 1 ½ minutes long.
Take Biology Quiz (FIRST 20 mins of class)

Create a Meal Plan for a person with your Enzymatic Disease. Provide Evidence and Reasoning for your choices!
Finalize what you plan to say in your presentation.
Practice your presentation while using your model. Within your presentation, you need to explain the specifics of the disease (including all required elements from the Biology rubric) and use the model as a visual aid to support your discussion.
