Deputy Superintendent of GCPS schools, Dr. Nakia Towns, visits classes on the 2nd day of school.
Ms. Mack conducts a circle with her group of band students to connect with each other.

These requests MUST be made prior to Friday, 8/12th.
As bus drivers get accustomed of their routes and students become accustomed to their routines/expectations, buses may be running a bit late in the mornings and the afternoons. For afternoon dismissal, you can remain abreast of the departure times of your child's bus, by following these easy steps.
Log on to our DMS website.
Click on Parents/Students across the top of the screen.
Click on Afternoon Bus Dismissal you will see the buses that have already left and what time they departed our building.
You will need to refresh the screen periodically for updates.
The bus zone off of Auburn Road is only used for student drop off before 8:55am.
Students cannot be dropped off in that area or the staff parking lot during school/carpool hours. This creates a safety hazard.
If you did not attend Open House or have not yet completed MPP documents, please do so as soon as possible. You can access MPP by logging on to our website and clicking the Back to School tile on our homepage.
As we transition back for the 2022-2023 school year, we wanted to provide you with a quick update regarding school meals.
Unfortunately, the USDA waiver has expired, which means the School Nutrition Program will no longer offer the benefit of free meals for your child.
Parents will now need to complete the application linked below to apply for Free/Reduced meals.
While meals have been offered at no cost for the past 2 years, meals will cost as follows for Dacula Middle School students:
Breakfast:
** Free and Reduced Price students will receive breakfast at no charge. **
Students with Full Pay eligibility will be charged $1.50 per child
Lunch:
** Free and Reduced Price students will receive lunch at no charge. **
Meal Prices for lunch are as follows:
Reduced - $.40 cents per child
MS Lunch - $2.50 per child
Even if you think you may not be eligible, we encourage you to complete the form. Every dollar counts and I would hate for any student to be hungry unnecessarily throughout the school day when meals have been free for them the past 2 years.
Please click here to access the meal form.
You can also log on to the Back To School portion of our website for more information and access to forms.
All GCPS students in grades 3-12 will be issued a Chromebook to be used at school and taken home to extend learning beyond the school day for the 2022-23 school year.
Any student absent on their pick up day will receive their device/charger the first day they report to school.
While content filtering is applied to devices, parents are responsible for monitoring the appropriate use of technology at home.
Students in households with limited or no access to the internet can request a hotspot from DMS.
Students are expected to use devices following the GCPS Acceptable Use Policy and the Student Conduct Behavior Code.
Students need to arrive at school each day ready for learning with a fully charged device.
Additional information and resources can be found on the 1:1 Parent Support Site.
