Announcements:
The Cooper Chorus will be performing at the Archer Farmers Market on March 28th, 2026 with the Lovin and Harbins Choirs.
We will also be performing the national anthem at Coolray field on May 20th, 2026. Ticket information will be coming soon.
2nd-5th grade will be starting a ukulele unit. Kindergarten and 1st grade will continue to build on their music literacy skills.
5th grade: I can perform a simple song by switching smoothly between the C major and F major chords.
4th grade: I can use correct finger placement to play a clear C major chord on the ukulele.
3rd grade: I can identify, pluck, and name the four strings of the ukulele.
2nd grade: I can describe how the ukulele traveled to Hawaii and became a part of Hawaiian culture.
Kindergarten: I can identify and differentiate short and long sounds
1st grade: I can hear and move my body to show the difference between long and short sounds.
2nd Quarter
5th grade: I can play multiple different parts on mallet instruments.
4th grade: I can use improvisation to make my own melody on instruments.
3rd grade: I can read standard music notation.
2nd grade: I can experiment with musical instruments.
1st grade: I can use my singing voice to respond to different music.
Kindergarten: I can play more than one unpitched percussion instrument.
