Grades K-5: The students will complete a GCPS lesson, which reviews important guidelines on how to be good digital citizens. As part of our commitment to fostering responsible digital behaviors, we are introducing all students to the concept of Digital Citizenship. This initiative will help them understand how to navigate the online world safely, respectfully, and responsibly.
Kindergarten - I can use algorithms to solve problems.
I can identify my right side and my left side.
1st Grade- I can create and use algorithms to solve a task.
2nd Grade - I can identify that there are multiple ways to solve a problem.
3rd Grade - I can use the design process to come up with a solution to a problem.
4th Grade - I can use the design process to come up with a solution to a problem.
5th Grade - I can discuss and use emerging technology.

1st Grade- I can identify the letters on the home row of the keyboard.
2nd Grade - I can identify that there are multiple ways to solve a problem.
3rd Grade - I can model how computer hardware and software work
together as a system.
4th Grade - I can describe how internal and external parts of computing
devices function to form a system.
5th Grade - I can explain how systems use binary code to represent
numbers.

Please remind your child to handle their device with care and to follow the best practices discussed in the lesson. This initiative will help them understand how to navigate the online world safely, respectfully, and responsibly.

3rd Grade - I can manage my digital identity by making good choices online.
4th Grade - I can understand the rights and responsibilities I have as a digital citizen.
5th Grade - I can create and manage my digital identity through positive, safe, and ethical online interactions.
