Jacob Sevier is in his 27th year of teaching band and 19th as director at Creekland Middle School. Previously, he directed bands at Shiloh Middle School in Snellville, Smithton Middle School in Columbia, Missouri, and Sullivan C-2 Schools in Sullivan, Missouri. Mr. Sevier has served as a clinician and director for the Columbia Public Schools Award and Honor Band and helped coordinate the Sullivan C-2 Marching Competition.
Bands under Mr. Sevier’s direction have consistently earned superior ratings at LGPE. His bands are always well represented by the inclusion of his students at District Honor Band, All-State Band, and solo and Ensemble Festival. Bands under his direction have also performed well at the Southern Star Music Festival, Music in the Parks, High Note Music Festival, and the Harlem Globetrotters. Under Mr. Sevier’s direction, the Creekland Eagle Wind Ensemble was invited to perform at the 2017 UGA Middle School Band Festival and the 2019 GMEA In-Service Conference in Athens, Georgia.
Mr. Sevier received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Southeast Missouri State University and Masters of Curriculum and Instructions from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the National Band Association (NBA).
