This PRAXIS review talks about American history, China, Egpty, Greece, etc. The main focus being American history. The four parts being: 18th centruy, 19th centruy, 20th centruy, and 21st centruy. During the 18th century the most important things I want to remember are American Independence and American Government. For the 19th centruy I want to remember Westward Expansion, Civil War, and reconstruction. For the 20th and 21st centruy what I think is most important is World War I, The Great Depression, Womens Suffrage, and World War II.
This PRAXIS review focuses on Economics. The main topics being understanding humans needs met, understands the concepts of goods and services and the roles of producers and consumers, understands the purposes of earning, spending, and saving money, understands how businesses operate, and understands the patterns of economic activities in the United States and the world. I have never taken an economics class so this is one that I really need to study. Some key study points for me are going to be primary, secondary, and tertiary. Opportunity cost is concept I also struggle with.
This PRAXIS review is about Government and Civics. Understands the concepts of family and community, understands the purposes and functions of government, understands the various forms of government, understands important ideas in the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, understands the characteristics of responsible citizenship, and elections and politics. One of the hardest things for me is going to be remember the key detials of each document. Knowing the 10 amendments or the Declaration of Independence. I also struggle to understand the the electoral college. Checks and balances are something that I was not taught in depth about in school so I will need to refresh before take a test.
This is the PRAXIS review sheet for the Geography part of the test. It highlights four main points that the test covers. The first is understanding the concepts of location, distance, and direction. The second one is understands the physical characteristic of places and how they affect humans activities and settlement patterns. The third is understands human characteristics of place and how humans adapt to variation in the physical environment. The last one is understands similarities and differences between and among people (culture). Geography was the hardest practice test I took and is the topic I know the least about. There is a lot of things that I will need to review before taking the real PRAXIS test. The first one being the different types of maps. There is a lot of different physical and culture features I did not know about and will look over before taking the test. The different types of energy resources and lastly the different kinds of culture.
