When you hear about global warming, you may think that the most perjuditial sectors are the textile industry and the transport sector, if so, I must tell you that that you aren't rigth. The livestock industry is the responsable of the 51% of the greehouse effect emissions. That happens because the progress that requieres the livestock industry emits a lot of methane and nitrous oxide, which are worse than the CO2 that emit the cars and the factories.
Also, this sector is one of the most guilties of the desforestation, because in its process, is used a lot of land to cultivate livestock feed.
Talking about the animals, they are submitted to a life without freedom, where humans manipulate them to make their goods, for example, chickens are locked out, and people turn on and out the lights to make the chicken believe that there is daytime, so it believe that it have to put it eggs.
I'm not saying that everyone must to go vegan, because there are many places where are producing livestock in a natural and ecologic way, but we have to raise awereness that many industries treat animals as industrial products, and are endangering our planet with their industry.

Over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history. And experts see the trend is accelerating: All but one of the 16 hottest years in NASA’s 134-year record have occurred since 2000.
Wondering how to stop global warming? Reduce your own carbon footprint by following a few easy steps. Make conserving energy a part of your daily routine and your decisions as a consumer. When you shop for new appliances like refrigerators, washers, and dryers, look for products with the government’s Energy Star label; they meet a higher standard for energy efficiency than the minimum federal requirements. When you buy a car, look for one with the highest gas mileage and lowest emissions. You can also reduce your emissions by taking public transportation or carpooling when possible.
