Classroom Guidance Lessons: Deliver lessons focused on the Essential 8 character traits as well as required Texas state-mandated education units.
Teacher & Staff Collaboration: Consult with teachers and staff to address classroom dynamics and individual student needs.
Targeted Small Groups (K–5): Lead short-term small groups (typically 6-8 weeks) focused on specific skills identified by teachers or parents.
Campuswide Program Development: Plan and coordinate schoolwide events that promote positive character development and lifelong learning skills.
Examples include: Red Ribbon Week, College & Career Week, and more.

The mission of Rivera Elementary’s School Counseling Program is to remain student-centered at heart, providing a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program which meets the needs of the whole child and allows them to reach their full potential. The school counseling program works collaboratively with students, families, and other school stakeholders to identify and remove barriers to a student’s academic, social, emotional, and future success. Students will be taught the responsibility, empathy, and self-awareness paramount to becoming a contributing member of society and a world-class leader.
