As the IMPACT Counselor at Rivera Elementary, I provide comprehensive social-emotional and behavioral support services to meet the diverse needs of our students and families. My role encompasses a wide range of proactive and responsive initiatives that promote student well-being, resilience, and growth. Here’s a look at the key components of my work:
Individual & Group Counseling: I offer one-on-one and small group counseling sessions to support students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs.
Responsive Services & Restorative Circles: I address immediate student concerns and conflicts through responsive services and facilitate restorative circles to promote accountability and community.
Attendance Support: I collaborate with students, families, and staff to improve attendance through outreach, monitoring, and problem-solving strategies.
State Mandated Topics: I provide guidance lessons that meet state requirements on topics such as drug prevention, safety, and personal health.
TCHATT Liaison: I serve as a liaison with TCHATT (Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine) to connect students with mental health professionals.
UNT Play Therapy Liaison: I coordinate with UNT to support play therapy services on our campus.
Boys & Girls Club Liaison: I coordinate with BGC to support their programming on our campus.
