During course selection, students will be selecting courses electronically using Home Access Center (HAC) 

Denton ISD middle school students are required to take a Career Technology Education course in 7th or 8th grade. 

All middle school students are required to complete 2 PE courses.

Students can not be enrolled in more than one PE course in a school year. 

All middle school students are required to complete 1 fine arts course. 

All middle school students are required to complete 4 core courses each school year. (ELAR, Science, Social Studies, Math)

Students who were did not meet the expectations on the STAAR test are required to take an intervention course. This intervention course takes the place of an elective. House Bill 4545

Honors courses are available for 7th and 8th graders. Math 6 Honors is the only honors course offered to 6th graders. 

Students in the EXPO (gifted and talented) program will be placed in an EXPO ELAR course. 

Dyslexia placement will take the place of an elective. 

Students who request Math 6 Honors, Math 7 Honors, Algebra, or Geometry must meet the academic criteria in order to be placed in the course. Math Pathway and Requirements

 Spanish 1 will be offered to 8th graders only. 2 years of a World Language are still required at the high school level. 

Students must provide a physical and complete Rank One paperwork to participate in Athletics. Students will be removed if these are not completed by the deadline

Student must be interested in participating in competitive sports to be enrolled in Athletics. Boys (football, basketball, track, cross country) Girls (volleyball, basketball, track, cross country)
