Thanks for visiting my site, and welcome to all our new Titans!

This is my seventh year teaching at Bettye Myers Middle School.  I came to Denton ISD from Longview, Texas, where I taught 6th grade Pre-AP English Language Arts and Reading.  I started out at BMMS teaching 7th grade ELA but was overjoyed when I was offered a position that allowed me to teach EXPO.  This is my sixth year with the EXPO program, and this year, I also have the pleasure of teaching 7th grade Honors English.

I am a 2000 graduate of Texas Christian University, where I earned a B.A. in Vocal Music and a B.B.A. in Management.  After working as a senior insurance adjuster and staying home to raise my babies, I earned my teaching certificate and jumped in with both feet. Teaching was most definitely a calling for me, and while it's not always easy, I promise to bring enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and experiment every day.

In August 2021, I earned my Master's of Science in Instructional Technology.  It was incredibly challenging work, but I learned so many new things that I now enjoy using in my classroom!  I am old school when it comes to reading and writing.  Give me an actual book, some paper, and a pencil, please.  However, we live in a technologically-driven world, and I want to ensure my students leave middle school with the 21st century skills they need to be successful.

I am so humbled and blessed that I get to assist you in shaping the young minds you send to our campus each day.  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  This is going to be a great year!
