Eligibility Requirements
Candidates eligible for election to this chapter must be members of the 7th grade class.
Candidates must have been in attendance for at least one semester at Myers Middle School.
Candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or 90% in core classes.
Upon meeting the grade level, attendance, and GPA standard requirements, candidates shall complete an application and will be considered for election based on their service, leadership, and character.
Candidates who meet requirements 1-3 will be contacted in February and asked to complete an application for membership. Completion of the application does not guarantee selection. The applications are reviewed by a council comprised of faculty and staff members of Bettye Myers Middle School. We use ID numbers in place of students' names in order to ensure there is no bias in the selection process.
Students selected for membership in the National Junior Honor Society will be invited to participate in an induction ceremony in April (date TBD).
