We are learning addition & subtraction strategies. In 3rd grade, students will learn how to add and subtract one & two step word problems within 1,000 using strategies such as strip diagrams, pictorial models, number lines, and standard algorithm.
Here are some Khan Academy videos that do a great job explaining some of these strategies we have learned.

This is our goal for addition and subtraction. It is the quickest and most accurate way for our students to add. We do not teach standard algorithm (the "normal" way) in third grade
