Total Registration, AP Classroom, & Exam Registration 2023-2024

ALL students, both AP and dual credit, MSUT register on Total Registration and then join AP Classroom. It's up to you whether or not you sign up for the AP exam from there.

Assignments for all students will be posted on AP Classroom.

Instructions follow

The College Board is the organization that creates and administers the AP exams. (You might recognize their name from the PSAT -- they handle that test, and the SAT, as well!) Our course is designed to help you master “Enter your course name here” at a college level. At the end of the school year, you'll have an opportunity to take a test with College Board to demonstrate your historical knowledge and thinking skills. By scoring well on this exam, you can receive credit for this class with your college or university.

In order to get you set up for the AP exam, there are two web sites you need to use. The first, Total Registration, is the site Guyer uses to get students registered to take the test. The second, AP Classroom, is the official College Board site for AP students. It's what you'll use to complete some assignments for the course and access your testing info in May. Your AP Classroom login is also what you use to look up your AP exam scores next summer!

We're going to walk you through the process of signing up for both these accounts. Please follow these steps in order. You'll need info from Total Registration to join AP Classroom.

Step 1: Sign Up in TotalRegistration

Click this link to go to TotalRegistration. Read through the directions on the first page, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to start the registration process for your AP test. As you finish each page, hit the Next button to go on.

When you reach the page with the list of exams, click the button next to your teacher & class period. If you're in multiple AP classes, you can sign up for all of them at once here.

When you reach the page shown in this screenshot, pay attention to the following.

Example photo directions to the side:

There's a question in Total Registration that asks if you're taking the exam or not. We encourage everyone in an AP course to take the AP exam. If you change your mind about taking the exam later, you can log back into Total Registration and change your answer to this question.

Step 2: Find Your College Board Account PART 1

Click this link to go to My AP. (myap.collegeboard.org)

If you took another AP course last year, or you've taken the PSAT or SAT through College Board:  Use the login info for your existing account. If you make a second account, your AP scores from last year won't be connected to this year's, and you'll have to call College Board to fix it. If you don't remember, use the "Forgot username or password?" option.

If this is your first AP course: Click "Create Account."

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE: Please use your personal email account (not your school email) for My AP, and write down your login info in a safe place. You'll need to get back into this account any other year you take an AP class. This account is managed directly by College Board, so the teachers & counselors at Guyer don't have the ability to help you get back in. If you lose your login info, you'll have to call College Board directly for help (and it's kind of a pain). You will need access to that email for College Board information after you graduate. School email addresses are deactivated after graduation.

Step 2: Join AP Classroom PART 2

Follow the steps in the PDF below. If you have questions or get stuck, email your teacher for help. Use the Join Code you got from your Total Registration signup.

BOTH steps must be done by November 1st.

Costs: There is no cost for enrolling in AP courses.

In order to maintain social distancing and limit our exposure, we are encouraging all payments to be made online if at all possible. https://denton.revtrak.net/r1/ghs/#/list
