This class will review the IB design process, introduce students to technical drawing, 3D modeling (with computer aided design software), and basic data analysis. Projects will include: The Skimmer Car, a Puzzle Cube and a Furniture Design Challenge.
This class introduces students to designing, building, and programming robotic and automated systems. We will learn about gears, gear ratios, robotic motors, sensors, and programming. Projects will include a windmill, pull toy, drag racer, and a series of optional robotic challenges.

The majority of grades will be taken for work done during the process of projects we will complete throughout the year. Students will receive grades for work done in their Design Journals, including research, design ideas, and reflections. Grades will also be given for the products students complete in each project. Quizzes or tests will be given occasionally in order to assess specific skills needed for our projects.
