Leadership Development Events
LDEs create opportunities for members to practice and show their skills in public speaking, decision making, communication, and what they’ve learned about agriculture and FFA. These activities include both team and individual events that support what students are learning in their ag science classes.
All LDE events have elimination rounds at the district and area levels before moving on to the state competition. Contest dates are TBD.

Career Development Events
CDEs build on what students learn in agricultural classes and give them a chance to apply that knowledge in real-life situations. These events help students get ready for a career in agriculture by testing their technical skills, leadership abilities, communication, teamwork, and subject knowledge. CDEs help answer the question: “When will I use this in real life?”
Many CDEs also serve as qualifying events for the National FFA competitions and may offer scholarship opportunities. Check our calendar for general event dates. Refer to our calendar for relevant dates.

Contests
Most stock shows includes contests for both FFA and 4-H members. Many of these events may not be officially sponsored by FFA, but still closely align with the skills and knowledge students gain through agricultural classes and FFA participation.
We highly encourage members to get involved and attend these shows to capitalize on the amazing scholarships they often offer!
