NOVEMBER
Photography
Students are learning the fundamentals of photography, layout design, and digital editing. They are exploring how to capture meaningful moments that tell the story of our school year through thoughtful composition and creativity. They are staying very busy covering for school events, special celebrations, sports, academics and daily school life.
OCTOBER
Journalism Techniques
Students are learning the basics of journalism by conducting interviews with teachers, staff, and fellow students. They are developing strong communication skills as they learn how to ask meaningful questions, gather accurate information, and write engaging articles. These writing pieces not only showcase important events and stories from our school community but also help students understand the power of storytelling in preserving memories. Their finished articles will be featured in the yearbook.
SEPTEMBER
Design of the 25-26 School Year
Yearbook Cover Design
Students are learning the importance of sketching their ideas and transforming them into digital designs using Canva.
This project focuses on a key element of our yearbook: the front and back covers, which will also establish the theme for this school year's edition.
All students are required to participate, and their work will be graded. However, only the top five designs will move forward to a voting round, where the final theme and cover design will be selected by popular vote.
AUGUST
Reflecting on the importance
of the Yearbook
The students will have discussions on the facts that make the yearbook an important addition to school life.
The students' conclusions will give a value and relevance to the work they will do at designing the Harpool MS school year yearbook.
