Lauren Salazar, mezzo-soprano, is a graduate of the Graduate Artist Certificate program in Voice & Opera at the University of North Texas. She also holds a Master of Music in Voice from UNT and a Bachelor of Music in Voice from The University of Texas at Austin. This is her second year of teaching at Braswell High School and has a strong background in both the classical and musical theater styles. She believes anyone can be a singer!

Known for her versatility, Ms. Salazar has performed roles including Carmen, Hänsel, Dido, Despina (Così fan tutte), Zweite Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Dorothée (Cendrillon), and Annio (La clemenza di Tito). She has appeared with Fort Worth Opera, Austin Opera, Opera Arlington, the Dallas Bach Society, and Opera in the Ozarks, where she recently performed as the Witch in Into the Woods and as Carmen.

For the upcoming 2026-2027 season, Lauren will be a Hattie Mae Lesley Resident Artist with Fort Worth Opera, where she will be involved in various concerts as well as their children’s operas, and perform the role of Macduff in a reduced English version of Verdi's Macbeth, as well as cover the roles of Ginsberg in Scalia/Ginsberg and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.

Graham Day, countertenor, is an opera and choral singer, voice teacher, composer, and voice scientist with a passion for building singers of any age or experience into confident and expressive artists, empowering them to find absolute freedom in their unique voices. He holds master's and bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, and has been teaching students in various genres and styles for over eight years, from classical to pop, musical theater, jazz, rock and heavy metal. This is his second year teaching at Braswell High School.

Mr. Day has performed roles including Narciso (Agrippina), the Spirit (Dido and Aeneas), Nathalie (Die Fledermaus), and L’esprit (Cendrillon), and has covered the roles of the Sorceress (Dido & Aeneas) and Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus). He has also performed with Dallas Bach Society, Dallas Chamber Choir, Early Birds Baroque, and the St. Mark’s Schola.

This season he is singing a new Mozart pasticcio with Opera Scharbeutz in Germany, combining roles such as Farnace (Mitridate), Annio (La clemenza di Tito), and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), and will also be appearing with Orchestra of New Spain in the Fall.

Mr. Day is currently conducting laboratory research on extended vocal techniques in collaboration with the Complete Vocal Institute and UT Southwestern, and presented this research at the Voice Foundation in May 2026.
