The A Cappella Choir serves as the premier ensemble of the Braswell High School Choral Department and is the official choral representative of the school. This Varsity Mixed Choir is composed of select singers in grades 10–12 and is distinguished by its musical excellence and high performance standards. Members are expected to demonstrate advanced music literacy (UIL Level 3 or higher), refined vocal technique, and a professional, pre-collegiate demeanor. Participation in private voice study—either on campus or externally—is strongly encouraged. This ensemble competes at the UIL 6A Varsity level and admission is by audition only.
Comprising Varsity Treble voices in grades 10–12, this choir performs challenging literature at the highest level of the UIL repertoire. Members must read music proficiently (UIL Level 3 or higher) and exhibit exceptional vocal and artistic ability. This ensemble competes at the UIL 6A Varsity level and maintains a high standard of professionalism in rehearsal and performance. Private lessons are strongly recommended. Audition required.
This elite ensemble consists of Varsity-level Tenor and Bass voices from grades 10–12. Members must possess strong music-reading skills (UIL Level 3 or higher), advanced vocal proficiency, and a high level of musical maturity. Like the A Cappella Mixed Choir, this group competes at the UIL 6A Varsity level and represents the choral department in formal and competitive performances. Chorale features advanced junior-varsity treble and tenor-bass voices from grades 9-11. Amabile is comprised of non-variety treble voices in grades 9–12. Students are expected to demonstrate developing music literacy (UIL Level 2 or higher) and a strong commitment to musical growth. This ensemble may perform in UIL 6A Non-Varsity Festivals and other school events. Private voice lessons are encouraged. No audition required.
This ensemble includes non-variety tenor and Bass voices from grades 9–12. Members should be able to read music at UIL Level 2 or higher and demonstrate consistent growth in vocal ability. The group may participate in UIL 6A Non-Varsity Festivals and school concerts. Students are encouraged to enroll in private voice instruction. No audition required.
The VIBE / Chamber Singers is an elite, multi-genre vocal ensemble for students in grades 10–12. Members are trained in an expanded repertoire including Pop, Jazz, Contemporary, and Modern vocal styles, as well as performance techniques involving movement, staging, and choreography. This advanced ensemble also competes in the prestigious North Texas Madrigal Festival and other specialized competitions. Membership requires a high level of dedication, professionalism, and artistic versatility. Audition required. Additional costume and participation fees apply.
