Emergent bilingual students are given the TELPAS each spring to assess their progress in becoming proficient in the use of English. Students are assessed in four domains: Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Students:
Teachers will holistically rate their EL students in all four domains based on the use of ongoing classroom observations.
Students in Grades 2-12:
Teachers will holistically rate their EL students in the area of Writing using student writing collections.
Students will take the TELPAS online assessment for the domains of Reading, Listening, and Speaking.
