Hello! My name is Meaghan Jarosz (Rhymes with Harris) and I am in my 5th year teaching at Savannah! I taught 4th grade for two years, and this will be my third year in 5th. I am the Math and Science team teacher to Ms. Tesar!

I consider my specialty fostering safe social and emotional learning environments.  Having taught 4th, I'm able to really build on those prior standards and kick them up to 5th grade level.  I stirive to provide my students with accountability and find creative ways to engage their learning. From circuit cars, to toothpick bridges, social studies projects and landform models, I try to get as hands on as possible. I pride myself in creating an inclusive learning environment for ALL.

Professionally, I have been a member of Savannah's Guiding Coalition for 3 years and am  now 5th Grade Math and Science Lead Teacher.  I have served two years as Social and Emotional Ambassador and New Teach Mentor. This is my 4th year  as a PTA Board Member and last year I was a Teacher of the Year nominee. On the District level,  I have served with Lead Denton, Legislative Advocacy, and, new this year, Braswell Zone Math Vertical Team.

Personally, I have lived in Savannah for ten years now with my husband Stan, two kids, and two dogs. Martin is 11 and going into 5th grade. He loves hockey and wants to go to Texas A&M to be a veterinarian. Sloane is almost 9 and in 3rd grade. She loves dance and wants to go to Booker T Washington someday and eventually dance for a Company in New York. When I'm not working, or at one of my families many activities, I'm either reading or cooking!
