Curriculum
STAAR Test Prep - ELAR Week 2
Reading: This week we’re going to work together to study and practice responding to test questions focusing on informational passages—these are passages that read like an expository and/or argument text, or a hybrid. The information is real and often you’ll see reasons and evidence for a claim, although sometimes you’ll see details that support big ideas of sub-topics
Writing: Students will compose an extended construction response, based on an informational text, by answering questions about text through a central idea and supporting it with text evidence.
Grammar: Students will focus on editing sentences by focusing on word choices, combining or deleting sentences, as well as adding in transition words.
Math, Science, Social Studies
Math: This week starts our Data Analysis unit. Analyzing the data on Dot plots, Scatter plots, bar graphs and frequency tables while responding to questions.
Science: This week we wrap up our "Earths Rotation" unit and being our new unit of weather and the water cycle.
Social Studies: Our Civil War unit starts this week.
