Curriculum
Reading: Students are asking themselves "How does what I know as a writer help me as a reader?" Students are working on developing theories and writing about it using textual evidence from their book.
Writing: Students are being walked through the final stages of writing a literary essay. Next week, students will create their own thesis statements and work through the writing process to develop a final draft of a literary essay.
Grammar: Students are reviewing subject-verb agreement.
Math: This week we are continuing our Geometry Unit: Classifying Polygons. Students will use their knowledge of the attributes of polygons to sort them into their correct placement within a polygon hierarchy.
Science: This week we continue with Force and Motion; students will be completing hands on activities to observe how force creates motion. (5.7A)
Social Studies: This week we will continue our discussion of the American Revolution and how the colonies defeated Great Britain. Next, we will discuss how the colonies created the Declaration of Independence and the quality of life they believed they deserved.
