#Run4Allison School News:

I wanted to let you all know about some of the wonderful learning we have going on here at West.

We have recently launched our Campus Capstone Challenged Based Learning (CBL) Project, with our big idea of Transformation.

Our essential question is: How can we use the power of media to support #run4allison to transform a life?

All four core content areas have tackled this CBL and the students are using persuasive writing with an established thesis, data analysis using a variety of graphs in math, percentage change, distance, rate and time (potential speed), as well as local terrain and weather patterns.

On Thursday 4/26, our very own Assistant Principal, Bruce Hermans, will be donating his own time tomorrow morning to run 21 miles from Coppell Middle School West to the steps of the AT&T Stadium, where the NFL Draft is occurring, to help our student body raise awareness for the chosen cause, #Run4Allison. This is where we need your help! We want to see all of our Westies in their favorite Cowboys, Packers, navy blue and silver/green and gold, gear tomorrow for our brief campus wide pep rally.

Tomorrow morning Mr. Hermans will start his run in a 6th grade classroom promptly at 8:00 a.m. and should be on Wrangler Drive at 8:10 a.m. Our hope is that our students will line the hallways and cheer him on as he launches for his big run. The students will track his run and monitor vital data for analysis before, during, and after the race. All students will be in classrooms by 8:10 a.m. for the start of our instructional day.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our kids, our school and our community.
