Senior

Below are some general recommendations for senior students to help them prepare for college:

  • Meet with your school counselor and visit the College and Career Center on your high school campus to make sure you are on track to graduate and fulfill college admission requirements

  • Check with the colleges you are applying to see what standardized tests they require (SAT/ACT/TSI)

  • Apply to the colleges you have chosen. Pay close attention to requirements and deadlines.

  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available on October 1st. There is no FAFSA deadline but the sooner you submit, the better! Check with your colleges of interest for a priority deadline

    • Beginning with the class of 2022, submitting the FAFSA or TASFA is a high school graduation requirement

  • Review your college acceptances and compare the colleges' financial aid offers

  • Notify your school of choice of your commitment and submit any required financial deposit. Many schools require this notification and deposit by May 1st
