Matthew Sotelo- Color Guard Director

Matthew Sotelo will be entering his 11th year teaching Colorguard. Most recently, Mr. Sotelo was part of the Canyon Hs Band Program serving as the Colorguard Director from 2021-2025, where he not only took the program to multiple TCGC State competitions, but also made WGl Finals at local regionals. Mr. Sotelo also marched with Origins World Independent in 2023. During that time, he was named one of the three captains for the program as they headed to the WGI Colorguard World Championships. He is now currently on staff with Industry Independent as a choreographer for the Open class program.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the DHS Band & Colorguard. I am excited to work alongside the amazing community of students/parents as we continue the success and growth of the program."

In his free time, Mr. Sotelo enjoys working out at his local CrossFit gym, attending concerts, hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors with his 3 year old Husky, Gunner.
