Step 1: Read + Reflect

Read these two pages on PD facilitation goals. Then, head to this slide show and provide examples on at least three slides of how you have seen Brooke and Julianne model these goals.

Step 2: Watch + Consider

The next few steps will help you think about whole group vs. small group PD facilitation. To consider facilitation of a whole group in action, watch this video on the topic of Floating & Sinking. It's 23 minutes long, but we suggest you pause at 14:36. Then, head to this document to reflect on what you noticed.

Step 3: Reflect + Classify

To think about small group facilitation, first, consider how Brooke and Julianne have supported working in small groups and interacted with those small groups. Then, head to this document to classify these facilitation moves.

Step 4: Watch + Compare

Watch this video of small group facilitation. The video is 17 minutes long, but you could focus on the following sections:

14:00-17:33

Next, head to this document. There is a little bit of reading about facilitation moves at the top. Then you will consider these moves and compare them to whole group facilitation.

Step 5: Watch + Reflect

Last but not least, please watch this 19-minute video on what makes for a good facilitator. As you watch, consider your strengths and areas for growth as it relates to these qualities.
