The Just in Time planning project is a collaborative effort between researchers and community leaders in rural and tribal health to discuss the best strategies to utilize an integrated remote heart monitoring system to benefit patients with chronic heart conditions who live in rural, remote and isolated tribal areas. While some current remote heart monitoring technologies exist and target the detection of critical heart conditions, the alert time is typically too slow to allow remote and rural patients access to medical care. As a result, the Just in Time project emphasizes the use of deep learning and Markov-based prediction methods to develop offline remote monitoring technologies that are capable of early cardiac event detection.
