Overview
The Just in Time Project is a collaborative research project aiming to improve remote heart monitoring technologies for individuals with chronic heart disease living in rural areas of Arizona. Native Americans are the third-largest population living in rural areas and a considerable portion of residents live very far from medical services and timely access to care can be crucial when a life-threatening heart condition is involved.
Our goal is to create a more reliable monitoring system that can predict the occurrence of a major cardiac event "just in time" to receive medical assistance even if the remote heart monitor does not have connection to Wi-Fi or broadband network.
Project Goals
Develop and implement reliable, offline heart monitoring methods for rural patients
Identify and Recruit as many Native tribes, programs, and organizations in Arizona to work with.
Identify and recruit key individuals to serve on our Community Advisory Committee
Recruit Native adults to participate in our 2-week study wearing a remote heart monitor.
Collaborating Partners
Want to Participate?
Our team is currently seeking Tribes, Tribal organizations and/or Tribal programs along with members of the tribal community to partner with us for the Just in Time project. Through these partnerships, we will be able to develop protocols and procedures that are culturally sensitive while gaining relevant data and feedback about what to improve and develop for this technology to effectively serve the Native community.
Please contact us for any additional information or if you would like our team to provide a presentation. All inquiries can be directed to:
